Biomedical Engineering Technology (BS)
As the health care field and technology's role in diagnostic, therapeutic and research activities continue to expand, so too will the need for biomedical engineering technology professionals. These technologists with a foundation-level understanding of biological processes and skills in both engineering software and hardware are essential to this multidisciplinary field, in which engineering technology principles are applied to solve problems in medicine and biology.

By providing a firm foundation in biological sciences as well as core competencies required of electronics engineering technologists, DeVry's Biomedical Engineering Technology (BMET) program develops graduates who can enter the work force as technical professionals with competencies in bioengineering processes and tools. BMET graduates play essential roles on the biomedical team, typically designing and implementing hardware and software solutions to biological or medical problems. The curriculum is applications-oriented in the areas of physiological bioinstrumentation and informatics, and provides graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to function effectively in multidisciplinary teams, adapt to changes in technical environments throughout their careers and progress in their professional responsibilities. Biomedical Informatics (BS)
The interdisciplinary field of biomedical informatics draws on computer technology, information technology, the biosciences and health care systems. Significant breakthroughs in biological research have produced a barrage of data worldwide in areas such as genome analysis that hold the promise for a healthier future. At the same time, the need for expanded efficient and effective health care in today's global society is spurring continued growth in health care businesses while creating demand for technological advances and improved health care delivery systems. To continue these advances, the biomedical community requires expert support in collecting, organizing, sharing, analyzing and disseminating biomedical data and information.

To this end, DeVry designed its Biomedical Informatics (BMI) program to prepare graduates for professional positions in bioinformatics and health care informatics. Bioinformatics focuses on developing and managing information systems used in areas such as genomic research, forensics, and pharmaceutical and agricultural development. Health care informatics combines knowledge of information technology, health care systems and life sciences to develop effective and efficient use of information to implement improved health care systems. Business Administration (BS)
Business organizations today are seeking professionals with broad-based knowledge of modern business theory and practices, and their interrelationships to meet the challenges of operating in a global electronic marketplace. The rapidly increasing pace of computer technology use by business is driving organizations to value employees who are knowledgeable in the application of technology to business strategy, management and decision-making.

DeVry's Business Administration program develops these competencies through case studies, team projects, Internet use and Web page development, as well as computer applications and systems integration.

The program offers majors (concentrations in Illinois, New York and Pennsylvania) in Accounting, Business Information Systems, E-Commerce, Health Services Management, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Project Management, Sales and Marketing, and Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship. In addition, a general business option is available in lieu of a specific major/concentration. Request More Information

Computer Engineering Technology (BS)
Dramatic expansion of computer and communication network use has created many career opportunities for computer engineering technologists. These specialists have a mix of software development, hardware and engineering skills, and apply their expertise in diverse areas such as multiprocessor architecture, parallel computing, distributed computing, real-time systems, embedded systems, local and wide area networks, multimedia and the World Wide Web.

The Computer Engineering Technology (CET) program (Computer Technology program in New York) prepares graduates to join the work force as technical professionals in a variety of industries, including information technology. CET graduates take a hands-on approach to designing and implementing software, interfaces that link computers to other physical systems, and computer systems or other digital subsystems. They design software systems; create code and protocols; test and evaluate hardware and software products and processes; and diagnose and solve problems. Graduates should also possess appropriate knowledge, experience and skills to function effectively in multidisciplinary teams, adapt to changes in technical environments throughout their careers and progress in their professional responsibilities. Computer Information Systems (BS)
In today's fast-paced global economy, efficient, reliable and secure computer information systems are critical to an organization's survival and competitiveness. These systems are used to support nearly all functions within an organization. Virtually all organizations in all sectors of the economy need computer information systems to service their clients, customers, suppliers, vendors and employees.

CIS professionals provide invaluable and highly specialized computer systems expertise as they use computer hardware and software to develop and maintain the application software and information systems organizations need to operate efficiently and become more effective, innovative and competitive in how they conduct business. In short, these experts are vital to the survival and bottom-line success of every enterprise.

The CIS program prepares baccalaureate graduates to successfully join the work force as technical and management professionals in a variety of industries. CIS graduates play essential roles on the business team, typically designing and implementing hardware and software solutions to business problems. They are also expected to possess knowledge, experience and skills that will enable them to adapt to change in this dynamic field through a lifelong learning process. Request More Information

Electronics Engineering Technology (BS)
Electronics specialists are at the heart of today's rapidly evolving technology, applying their expertise in diverse areas such as manufacturing, telecommunications, wireless, semiconductors, computer systems, weapons systems, security systems, transportation, entertainment, medicine and space exploration. Global competition and the unparalleled speed at which new products are developed have greatly increased the need for highly productive and adaptive engineering technologists.

The primary goal of the Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) program is to prepare graduates to join the work force as technical professionals in a variety of industries. EET graduates play essential roles on the engineering team, typically designing and implementing hardware and software solutions to technical problems. Graduates should also possess appropriate knowledge, experience and skills to function effectively in multidisciplinary teams, adapt to changes in technical environments throughout their careers and progress in their professional responsibilities. Information Technology (BS)
The Information Technology (IT) program is designed for the baccalaureate-level college graduate seeking to pursue a career in IT. The program is structured around a core of technology-oriented specialty courses with emphasis on applying computer technology to solve business problems. Students draw on their college and business backgrounds as they work in teams to develop solutions to case studies. Project management, communication skills and ongoing IT administration, all critically important in today's rapidly changing business environment, are integrated across the program.

The IT program prepares graduates to successfully join the work force as technical and management professionals in a variety of industries. IT graduates play essential roles on the business team, typically designing and implementing hardware and software solutions to business problems. They hold professional positions in such areas as client/server or Web applications development, systems analysis and network administration. Graduates are also expected to possess the appropriate knowledge, experience and skills to adapt to change in this dynamic field through a lifelong learning process. Request More Information

Network and Communications Management (BS)
With the power to link workers a cubicle away or a world apart, connect air travelers to automobile passengers or conduct business via the Internet, telecommunications systems have truly created a global neighborhood. As a result, professionals who can harness this technology to advance business goals are a vital part of our economy.

Professionals with the right combination of business and technical skills are needed to design, operate, manage and advance the networks upon which businesses rely.

To address the need for these well-rounded experts, DeVry's Network and Communications Management program (previously called Telecommunications Management) integrates technology and business management coursework, enabling graduates to analyze communications needs, provide effective solutions and fill a critical niche in business organizations. Students learn about designing, implementing and managing networks as they gain a technical understanding of data and voice networking and their strategic application in business. Technical Management (BS Degree Completion)
Getting the right education is critical to moving ahead in today's fast-paced business world. Entering the work force as soon as possible after gaining a basic educational foundation is often necessary in order to meet financial and family responsibilities. But to get ahead in an increasingly complex and competitive work environment, more advanced education is necessary. For many adults, returning to the classroom full time is not possible. Time pressures make it difficult to enhance academic credentials while still fulfilling personal and professional commitments.

To meet the special needs of adult students, DeVry developed its bachelor's-degree-completion program in Technical Management. The curriculum helps students with qualifying prior college experience add an important credential - a bachelor's degree - to their resume. The program also facilitates students' advancement to supervisory or management positions in their chosen field of specialization, enabling them to reap greater career and financial rewards.
